Welcome! We are Ardwick Mission Community, a group of Anglican churches across east Manchester, Longsight and Victoria Park. We belong to Manchester Diocese and are part of Manchester North and East Deanery. Although we’re made up of 11 we see ourselves as ‘one church’ which is committed to growing numerically and spiritually, nurturing new and existing disciples and serving the local communities of which we are each a part. We are a growing, nurturing and serving Missional Community.
Our vision is to become a group of churches in which all sorts of people can come together, feel comfortable and experience a sense of belonging as they worship God.
Our vision is to become a group of churches in which all our members develop a More Than Sunday faith.
Our vision is to become a group of churches which are visible and active in our local communities.
We are working together to achieve our vision by:
Raising up Lay Leaders in each of our churches who are visible and regular at church, know our congregations, are passionate about the churches they represent taking a full and active part within the missional community.
Supporting our Man Dio Growing Faith Enabler to reach out to children and young people by running Youth Sacred Space at Church of the Resurrection. This space continues to grow, with increased Christian teaching through the Youthscape Unfold resource. Buillding stronger relationships with several primary schools in Gorton, including:
Armitage Primary
All Saints Primary
St James Primary
Potential future work with St Barnabas Primary
Delivering Experience Easter events for four local primary schools.
Creating a Discipleship Development Course to enable all who follow it to become confident in their calling as disciples of Jesus Christ and living out their faith in church and the world.
Growing our network of Places of Welcome and Warm Spaces across the Missional Community.
Supporting our parishes in developing their work to combat isolation, homelessness, food poverty and debt.
Working towards net zero carbon by supporting each other to measure our energy use through the Energy Footprint Tool.
