FOOD SUPPORT IN ARDWICK MISSION COMMUNITY
There are a number of foodbanks and community grocers across the mission community. Each one has it's own referral criteria, but if you or someone you know is in need of a food parcel please contact us or visit the Manchester Central Foodbank website.
At Church of the Apostles, Miles Platting, The Social Super Market is an initiative to help local residents reduce the cost of their weekly food shop, and help to prevent food waste!
It costs £5 to sign up, and then it is just £4 each time you shop.
Other than being a local resident (no more than 20 minutes walk from us), there are no other criteria for joining the Social Super Market.
The Beacon Centre Community Grocer.
Applicants must live in Clayton, Beswick or Openshaw and be referred by one of their approved local referral partners.
Members are entitled to 1 weekly visit for 6 months and receive food to the value of £18+ for £5 per visit plus bread products and toiletries.
St Clements Foodbank
On a Tuesday afternoon, St Clements run a foodbank out of their church building.
